About the Author
I am a 20-year-old Computer Science Engineering student, who adores reading. I’d spend all day talking about books if I could, but I decided to channel that urge into writing a blog, something that I’ve always wanted to do. Blogging about what I read, gives me a platform to unabashedly present my opinions. Apart from reading, I adore most animals (read as: owls), and spend a lot of time, working on front end development, painting and playing the piano.
About Grumpy Owl
I feel that I owe an explanation as to why I named the blog Grumpy Owl. The most simple reason is that I love owls. They’re usually cute, fluffy birds, and have the most lovely eyes. They’re also startlingly intelligent, and are often associated with books. One of my earliest memories of reading books with an owl in it is from “Pooh’s Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin”. In the book, Pooh and his friends are led to believe that their dear friend, Christopher Robin, might be in grave trouble. Naturally, they turn to their wise old owl friend for advice. Owl (yes, that’s the owl’s name), gives them a haunting warning from a note that Christopher Robin had left him. According to Owl, he’d ventured off to “Skull”, a decrepit cave, and might need immediate rescuing. The book concludes with the revelation that Christopher hadn’t gone “Skull”, but rather to “School”. (Basically, Owl had read Christopher’s note incorrectly 🙁 ).
As to why the “Grumpy” prefix, owls never seem to be quite happy, and rather have perpetually grouchy expressions. It kind of ties in with my family’s opinion, that I’m a grumpy and irritable person myself, most of the time.
